Laminating

CREATE A HEAD-TURNING PACKAGING

Laminating is used for packaging that require very high quality printing, impossible to achieve with other technologies. In the laminating process, an offset printed sheet, of very high quality, is glued onto a sheet of corrugated cardboard. This is all done on a laminating machine that positions the offset printed sheet in relation to the cardboard, onto which a layer of glue is applied. The applied glue introduces some humidity and slightly deforms the cardboard. To prevent this, the machine’s flip-flop system rotates the batches of the glued material, ensuring the sheets remain completely flat. Laminated packaging is often very richly decorated e.g. by gilding or application of various types of varnish on a single box.
